I work for
as a Consultant Behaviour Analyst. I also chair the PBS Special Interest Group for the UK Society of Behaviour Analysts
I'm running a session called: 'From three items to forty three - helping a man with autism broaden his diet'.
This presentation is about Thomas, a 19 year old gentleman with a restricted diet. Through various techniques (which were all controlled by Thomas) the number of foods he ate increased drastically.
Anybody working with people who have restricted diets could benefit from this talk, including industry professionals and parents. How I joined the industry
I started out as a support worker fro adult with acquired brain injury, while also working on home based programmed for children with autism. This sparked my interest in support and service delivery and, in 2005, I went on to complete an MSc in Analysis and Intervention at the Tizard Centre.
As part of the MSc I took on a placement at Dimensions in their behaviour support team where I became interested in Positive Behaviour Support, especially in quantification of behaviour and the data driven nature of behavioural interventions.
I became a board certified behaviour analyst in 2013 and I'm passionate about sharing what good ABA/PBS looks like. Fun fact
I make my own clothes.
